Location. The Crane Resort and Residences sits atop a 70 foot cliff overlooking the Atlantic in St. Philip, Barbados. The hotel is six kilometers from the Grantley Adams International Airport. From lush valleys to azure blue water, Barbados boasts some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Caribbean. Hotel Features. Transformed from a very small property into the large resort it now is, The Crane Resort and Residences maintains its old world charm. A pool with a marble sundeck and Roman columns offers ocean vistas. The pool complex features four free form pools, a children's section, a pool bar, a jetted tub, waterfalls, gardens and fountains. L'Azure is an alfresco, ocean view restaurant showcasing classic Caribbean fare with a focus on fresh seafood. The Sunday buffet breakfast and brunch feature entertainment, and Zen offers Thai and Japanese cuisine complete with a sushi bar. Complimentary shuttles transport guests to a supermarket twice weekly and to downtown Bridgetown on Thursdays. Grocery delivery service is also available. Wireless Internet access is available in the lobby and main pool areas, and lobby computers allow for high speed Internet access, all complimentary. Other services include concierge, business services, tour assistance and dry cleaning. A fitness facility is located on site.
Guestrooms. The spacious suites feature large furnished balconies, old world coral stone walls, 10 foot high timber tray ceilings, Oriental carpets, floor to ceiling marble bathrooms with jetted tubs and spa showers with multiple shower heads. The junior suites offer a kitchenette and a garden view. The one bedroom suites have a kitchen with a refrigerator, smooth top stove, dishwasher, private washer and dryer, and spectacular ocean views.
Expert Tip. The Andromeda Botanic Gardens overlook the town of Bathsheba, about 13 miles from the resort. Visitors can examine limestone boulders, indigenous flora and the occasional monkey, mongoose, lizard or heron. Renovation Notice: The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and constructing new buildings. There may be noise disturbance. Construction work takes place daily from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The estimated completion date is January 2009. The hotel's main pool will be closed from July 16, 2008 through July 26, 2008, in order to repair the Crane Columns. The hotel's four clifftop pools will remain open. All completion dates are subject to change.
