On the edge of the picturesque fishing village of Sainte Anne, and adjoining its own private, white sandy beach on Guadeloupe's Grand Terre, Le Toubana consists of discreet, pastel coloured buildings nestling among hibiscus and palm filled tropical gardens. Simple white walls compliment wood and wicker furniture and lively, patterned fabrics in the 32 air conditioned bungalows, each of which opens onto a private terrace with table, chairs an outdoor kitchen and views of the ocean or the gardens. All have bathrooms and separate toilets and direct dial telephones.
The hotel is arranged around a swimming pool, surrounded by terraces with parasols and sun loungers where guests can soak up the Caribbean sunshine with an exotic fruit juice or rum cocktail from the bar. Diners can enjoy ocean views from the shaded terrace of the restaurant, which offers Creole dishes and traditional French cuisine, while seafood lovers can choose a lobster or a crayfish straight from the tank. A range of water sports and jet skiing is on offer down on the small, private, sandy beach and sporty guests can practice their serve on the tennis court. All the hotel buildings are air conditioned and there is a safe deposit box for valuables at the front desk. Guests with cars can make use of free on site parking and there is a meeting room for business purposes. The centre of the lively and picturesque fishing village of Sainte Anne is less than a kilometre from the hotel and easily reached on foot. The hotel organizes tours of the island for guests. Guadeloupe's varied landscape of banana and sugar cane plantations, volcanoes, beaches and tiny fishing villages is easily explored by hire car. Pointe a Pitre airport is 12 kilometres and approximately a 20 minute drive away.
